And within it is the Lagwos Hare; but it does not take
505 much of the Kyon Dog, but only as much as it covers with its feet; and within it is the Argo
and the great back of the Kentauros Centaur, and within it the sting
of Skorpios Scorpion; and within it the bow of the noble Toxeuter Archer.
The sun, passing the last of the clear North,
is carried to the South, and there it turns
510 in winter. And three of its eight parts revolve on high,
while five revolve below the earth.
In the middle of both, like the gray Milky Way,
a circle turns under the earth, appearing to divide.
Within it, days are made equal to nights on both sides,
515 when summer is waning, and then when spring is beginning.
The sign for it is Krios Ram and the knees of Tauros Bull,
Krios indeed driven in length through the circle,
and Tauros as much of its legs as appears kneeling.

Marginal additions: The text notes that the Hare's front foot and southern part are included, the Dog is split in the middle, and the ship Argo is divided near its prow and sail. The Hydra's tail is raised, the Scorpion holds a bright star, and the Archer is marked by the circle passing through its head.
