Concerning this specific Confession or Testimony, he initially published it in Latin—though much shorter—but subsequently, upon various requests, he translated it into German and published it in a paraphrastic original: "paraphrastice"; a style of translation that expands upon the original text to ensure the meaning is fully explained. or explanatory manner with richer and more numerous words in 1597 at Magdeburg. He did this with the promise to also publish it in Latin in this expanded form in the future (see below in the preface, § XVI). However, it seems that this—along with much else that he promised here and there to make public original: "evulgiren"; from the Latin evulgare, to publish or spread among the people.—did not come to pass due to his early death.
For what purpose he wrote this work and with what intention, he himself indicates in his apologetic preface original: "præfatione apologetica"; a formal defense or justification of his ideas against potential critics or accusations of heresy. which follows here. Therefore, it is not necessary to bring those details forward now; nor is it necessary to extensively praise this writing, since the work praises the master sufficiently.
