A highly detailed 16th-century map of Holland, oriented with East at the top. The map is filled with intricate drawings of cities, villages, forests, and polders. The sea is populated with numerous sailing vessels of various types. A large, ornate compass rose is centered in the Zuiderzee with radiating rhumb lines. There are three prominent coats of arms: Frisia at the top left, the Duchy of Brabant at the top right, and the arms of William of Orange at the bottom left. The map features an elaborate border with directional labels in Latin and Dutch.
