PREFACE.
by ignorant and perverse and contentious men, yet remained unblemished and nonetheless unconquered in the Church of God: and who it was that always has been, and remains even today, the simple, catholic, and most correct consensus of the Church of God in this matter. I have written on this same matter at other times; however, now I will sketch out the sum of the doctrine of truth, and then the series and progress of both the errors and the consensus of the Church of Christ in this apostolic and prophetic doctrine, by briefly repeating the clearest acts, histories, and testimonies of antiquity. For this reason, I did not wish to mark this little book with any other title than that of "Repetition," which I close at the end with an apologetic conclusion original: "Coronide" a finishing touch or crowning ornament. I hope, however, that the arrangement of the book is plain and not inconvenient, and that the evidence and clarity of the divine and human testimonies will bring the diligent reader the most abundant fruit, so that he may rest with a tranquil mind in this cause, and henceforth flee and abhor the ubiquity of Christ’s body and other errors introduced concerning the mystery of the Lord’s incarnation (for our age is all too fertile with errors).
I have striven for brevity in a matter so copious and serious, because I willingly spare the diligent reader, so that by weaving a work too prolix, I do not defraud them of time that should be spent on other necessary things, nor increase their trouble and labor by duplicating it, nor increase their expenses by purchasing a vast book. These things were written in the months of May, June, and July, of the Year of our Lord 1564.
