Die Zierde der geistlichen Hochzeit
Only partial translations or excerpts exist. This is the first complete English translation.
The 1916 edition translated by C. A. Wynschenk Dom is widely recognized as the first complete English translation of Jan van Ruusbroec's 'Die Geestelike Brulocht' (The Adornment of the Spiritual Marriage) from the original Middle Dutch. Earlier English publications, such as Jane T. Stoddart's 1894 'Ruysbroeck and the Mystics', contained only selections or excerpts translated from Maurice Maeterlinck's French version. Subsequent complete translations were published later in the 20th century (e.g., Colledge 1952, Wiseman 1985).
