The 'Sancai Tuhui' is a massive 106-chapter Ming Dynasty encyclopedia. While search results in Google Books and Open Library confirm its extensive use as a primary source in scholarly works (such as those by Shurtleff and Marcon), no record of a complete, standalone English translation of the entire work or of Section 43 (Implements) exists. Existing English versions consist only of partial translations or excerpts embedded within academic studies of Chinese material culture and science.
