武備志(三十二)
Only partial translations or excerpts exist. This is the first complete English translation.
The Wubei Zhi (Treatise on Armament Technology) is a massive 240-scroll military encyclopedia from the Ming Dynasty. While significant sections have been translated—such as the 'Mao Kun map' by J.V.G. Mills (1970) and the 'Straight Sword' chapter by Jack Chen (2018)—no complete English translation of the entire work exists. Academic works like Joseph Needham's 'Science and Civilisation in China' also contain extensive excerpts and analysis, but a full translation remains unpublished.
