Only partial translations or excerpts exist. This is the first complete English translation.
The work 'Himmlische Offenbarungen' (Heavenly Revelations) by Birgitta of Sweden is a German title for her major work, 'Revelationes'. While partial English translations of her 'Revelationes' exist (such as the 1990 Paulist Press edition containing Books 5 and 7), there is no evidence of a complete English translation of the entire work. Therefore, this is a first complete translation.

Birgitta of Sweden claims to hear directly from Christ and the Virgin Mary. This collection of her visions exposes the moral decay of the medieval Church and provides a harsh, demanding path toward spiritual salvation.
