The 'Wubei Zhi' (Treatise on Military Preparedness) is a massive 240-volume military encyclopedia from the Ming Dynasty. No complete English translation of this work was found in any of the searched catalogs (UNESCO, Open Library, etc.). While specific sections, such as the 'Mao Kun map' or certain weapon descriptions, have been translated and analyzed in scholarly works (notably by Joseph Needham), the work as a whole remains untranslated into English.

What if the sky was the ultimate military intelligence report? In this volume of the legendary 'Wubishi', Mao Yuanyi reveals how the sun, moon, and shadows of the atmosphere dictate the rise of empires and the slaughter of armies. Readers will discover a lost world where celestial optics—from 'lunar earrings' to 'killing energy'—foretell the fall of kings and the will of Heaven.
