The 'Wubizhi' (Treatise on Armament Technology) is a monumental 240-volume military encyclopedia compiled by Mao Yuanyi in 1621. While no complete English translation of the entire work or of Volume 9 exists, significant portions—particularly the 'Mao Kun' navigation charts and various technical sections on weaponry and strategy—have been translated and analyzed in scholarly works such as Joseph Needham's 'Science and Civilisation in China' and other military history studies. The primary source texts compiled within Volume 9 (such as the 'Sunzi Bingfa') are widely available in English, but Mao Yuanyi's specific arrangement and commentary have not been published as a complete English volume.
