Les manuscrits de Leonard de Vinci, Vol. 2
Leonardo da Vinci (ed. Ravaisson-Mollien)
No prior complete English translation of this text has been found.
While the underlying Italian notes of Leonardo da Vinci (Manuscripts B and D) have been translated into English by scholars such as Jean Paul Richter (1883) and Edward MacCurdy (1938), these translations are based on the original Italian manuscripts. The specific French scholarly edition by Charles Ravaisson-Mollien, including his French translation, preface, and critical apparatus, has never been translated into English. Following the rule that the source language of the edition matters, this constitutes a first English translation of the French work.
