新編直指算法統宗 (Suanfa Tongzong: Systematic Treatise on Arithmetic) Vol 8
Only partial translations or excerpts exist. This is the first complete English translation.
The 'Suanfa Tongzong' (1592) is a foundational text in Chinese mathematics that has been extensively analyzed in English-language scholarship, but no complete translation of the entire work or of Volume 8 specifically was found in the catalogs. Tool results identify several works containing excerpts and mathematical analyses, such as Jean-Claude Martzloff's 'A History of Chinese Mathematics' and Tito Tonietti's 'And Yet It Is Heard'. While Lam Lay Yong's 1970 study (referenced in metadata) is a significant resource, it is generally treated as a partial translation and critical study of the mathematical problems rather than a complete textual translation of the 17-volume treatise.
