The 'Zhiwu Mingshi Tukao' (1848) is a massive 38-volume botanical encyclopedia. While search results from Google Books confirm that the work is a primary source for scholarly studies on Chinese botany and agriculture (e.g., in the Soyinfo Center bibliographies and works by Federico Marcon), no complete English translation of the entire work or of Volume 4 ('Vegetables') was found. Existing English versions consist of partial translations or excerpts of specific plant entries within broader scientific and historical surveys.
