武備志(三)
No prior complete English translation of this text has been found.
The 'Wubei Zhi' (Treatise on Armament Technology) is a massive 240-volume military encyclopedia compiled by Mao Yuanyi in 1621. While specific ancient texts contained within it, such as the 'Sima Fa' (Methods of the Sima) in Volume 3, have been translated into English (e.g., by Ralph D. Sawyer in 'The Seven Military Classics of Ancient China'), Mao Yuanyi's specific compilation, arrangement, and commentary ('Bing Jue Ping') as presented in the 'Wubei Zhi' have never been translated into English as a complete work. Catalog searches in UNESCO Index Translationum, Open Library, and Google Books confirm that no English translation of the 'Wubei Zhi' exists.

How does a sage-king use the 'instruments of ill omen' to secure lasting peace? In this volume of the Wubizhi, Mao Yuanyi synthesizes the foundational wisdom of ancient China’s greatest strategists to reveal how true power is built on the integration of civil virtue and military lethality. Readers will discover a world where the ultimate victory is won not through bloodshed, but through the mastery of the human heart and the strategic alignment of the state.
