Amoenitatum exoticarum (Persia and Asia observations)
Only partial translations or excerpts exist. This is the first complete English translation.
The work 'Amoenitatum exoticarum' (1712) by Engelbert Kaempfer has never been published as a complete English translation. My search confirmed the existence of partial translations, specifically Fascicle III, published as 'Exotic Pleasures: Fascicle III, Curious Scientific and Medical Observations' (1996) by Robert W. Carrubba. Other portions of the work have appeared in various scholarly contexts, but no full English edition of the five-fascicle Latin text exists.

Step into the 17th-century Safavid Empire through the eyes of Engelbert Kaempfer, a physician-explorer who balances high-stakes court intrigue with groundbreaking scientific discovery. From the 'burning' naphtha springs of Baku to the silent ruins of Persepolis, this text uncovers a world where royal justice is absolute, nature is a laboratory of wonders, and every landmark tells a story of survival.
