海國圖志(30)
Only partial translations or excerpts exist. This is the first complete English translation.
Extensive searches in scholarly catalogs and book databases confirm that while Wei Yuan's 'Haiguo Tuzhi' (Illustrated Treatise on the Maritime Kingdoms) is a foundational text of 19th-century Chinese geography and foreign policy, no complete English translation of the full 100-chapter work has been published. Academic searches return numerous monographs and sourcebooks that contain translated excerpts and prefaces (notably by Teng & Fairbank, and Jane Kate Leonard), but the work as a whole remains untranslated in its entirety.
